About Relay for Life

How do I sign up?

Click on “Create a team or fundraiser”, choose a city, and fill in the required fields.

Do I need to create a fundraiser when I participate in Relay for Life?

Yes. Everyone gets their own fundraiser, but taking part in fundraising is voluntary. If you choose to do so, every cent contributes to the fight against cancer. The most important thing is that you take part and show that no one affected by cancer stands alone.

What is the difference between a team and a fundraiser?

Teams are groups of people making a difference together through their own fundraising pages. You can either create a new team, join an existing team, or join the open teams for each city. Only fundraising pages can receive donations, and everyone on a team will have their own individual fundraising page.

Team

How does a team work?

A team brings together multiple individual fundraisers from its members and is created to compete or raise donations together as a group. Each team member has their own fundraiser, and all results are then combined on a team page with its own goal and leaderboard. The team acts as a collective page with a leaderboard, but donations are always made to an individual fundraiser. It is not possible to donate directly to the team as a whole — instead, you choose a team member’s fundraiser.

How do I create a team?

When you sign up via the homepage, you’ll have the option to create a team or join an existing one.

We only want a team page and not individual fundraisers — how do we do that?

Since everyone gets a fundraiser created when signing up, you’ll need to choose one fundraiser to share and raise money through together. However, the best results are achieved when everyone raises money individually. Most people donate not only because they want to support Cancerfonden, but also because they know you personally.

How do I invite someone to my team?

You can easily send an invitation. When you’re logged in, click “More options” on your team page and invite members. Each email address you enter will receive your message and an invitation with a link to join the team.

Why do I need to specify how many members I expect to join my team?

It is very helpful for us when planning Relay for Life.

Can I remove a team member?

You cannot remove a team member yourself, but contact support at stafettforlivet@cancerfonden.se and we’ll help you.
